Murder, mystery and mayhem will be unleashed on the Amato Center stage as the Milford Area Players present the Agatha Christie mystery “And Then There Were None,” the novel on which the board game Clue is loosely based.

Originally titled “Ten Little Indians, And Then There Were None,” it is the stage adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunit.

Conrad Koch makes his Milford Area Players debut as Gen. John Gordon McKenzie. Koch said he is impressed by how quickly the show is progressing.

“I am amazed how well the show matures. Several of the actors, after only three or four rehearsals, are off book, making no mistakes as they recite their lines. I am impressed with the quality and the progress of our production,” he said.

Regarding character development, Koch said, “Although I am the correct age, with my being, arguably, of sound mind and able body, it is difficult for me to ‘get into his head.’ I am looking forward to receiving critique from our director, Tom Partridge, and other cast members in order to play the part more convincingly.”

Kevin Linkroum plays Capt. Lombard, which is a different role for the thespian. In the past he mostly has performed in musicals, so at first he found memorizing lines difficult. To overcome this challenge and make it less daunting, he practices his lines on the train to and from his job in Boston and practices blocking outside of rehearsal with his wife, Sophie, who is also in the cast, playing Miss Vera Claythorne.

For Linkroum, the most enjoyable part about the rehearsal process has been interacting with the cast.

“It’s a great group, and everyone is talented and a lot of fun. I think we manage to get just the right balance of laughs and seriousness,” Linkroum said.

Director Tom Partridge said it will be an enjoyable night out for local theatergoers.

“The story is one of the best-known and most-read Agatha Christie mysteries. I am sure anyone who has read the book will remember it; however, I feel it is our job to make them wonder if they remember correctly. I am looking forward to getting on the stage and working with props and a full set, complete with sound and lights,” Partridge said.

“And Then There Were None” will be performed at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts at 56 Mount Vernon St., Oct. 14-23. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for seniors 60 and older and students, cash or check only. Advance tickets are available at Toadstool Bookshop (cash or check only) and online at www.milfordareaplayers.org. Tickets also will be available at the door.

Cocoa Crew – Happy Hour Crew … it’s Genesis recorded 10-7-2011

Hello CREW…       HOPE THIS COMES TO YOU OK…  have been having computer issues  lately!  lol

Some of you have asked, so this is an updated reprint!   Too much stuff to put into the regular event emails!

Actual  CREW  Start Date:   2007-2008 time frame.

Approximately six years ago Corinne Bowley and Billy Hardy happened to run into each other at the Alamo Mexican
Restaurant, Rockledge.  As they spent a few minutes talking over the good-ole-days, Corinne remarked how good
it would be to get together with some of the local  Cocoa High School Classmates!             That was about it!

Then a neat thing happened and our effort slowly gathered momentum over the next year or so!

Rufos Muffler shop, (Paul Rufo CHS Classmate)  converted to Normans, a really great restaurant and sports bar
became a meeting place for a few of our classmates and friends!   Five or six folks would show up on Wednesday evenings, spend a couple of hours chatting, dining and having a generally great time sharing the memories of years past and renewing friendships that will  last for years to come!   (Phil Eschbach, Dabney Davis etc meet there also)

Soon the word spread and more folks would show up.  They would find their way to what became a weekly Wed. evening gathering.   Someone suggested that maybe a weekly change of scene and the chance to experience varied cuisine would be a good idea.           Next we started calling ourselves the     HAPPY HOUR CREW
and plans would be made to meet at different locations in the area each week.
Enter:  B-T-B,  BillyTwoBeers  An ole Indian, Class of 59 with limited computer skills.  He would put together the
weekly emails:   HAPPY HOUR CREW (date)   and   CREW REVIEW (date)
These included the next event location info and a review of the last event activities.
Yes!  including CORNY, WEIRD, STRANGE sometimes  FUNNY comments!   Poetic License  🙂
Now as many as 25+  people show up on occasion.    (currently 120+ email address for the CREW )

Quoting Clark True, Class of 59:
“Some groups like ours meet monthly and even yearly, but our CREW meets every week and is still going strong!”
CREW  meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at Ashley’s in Rockledge to celebrate classmate birthdays.
Cake and frivolity would be served.   No one seems to mind getting older. lol

B-T-B ?      In case you have wondered?  He is 25% Cherokee Indian and Billy-Two-Beers his Indian name.
Given to him by Friends? lol     The name means/suggests, that it has been said he can only
handle  TWO beers and ONE squaw per night!      Hummm, there are some who would debate that!  Disappointed smile

The following was submitted by Classmate Conrad Koch:   Special Thanks!

An idea whose time had come.
                     A fine bunch of people.
                        A unique gathering.
What a Kick   What a Crew
What a fine thing to do
Now its time to get off the dime
And Launch a  Cocoa Crew Review
              ===>   WWW.CocoaCrew.com
Created and maintained by Conrad Koch, Class of 59!
And they lived happily ever after!  WE HOPE!
Respectfully,  Bill Hardy    a.k.a.  B-T-B

Virgin Pins:  Yes CREW…!  Some of the girls wore Virgin Pins  in high school!
Ole timer Billy Hardy brought this discussion up and all of the Ladies

were aware!  Hummmm  That does give us something to think about!  Crazy
Big in the 1950’s… Always circular, usually gold-colored metal. Girls wore them
pinned on their right upper blouse/sweater front to proudly advertise that
they were the coveted virginal “good girl” material, highly prized in that era. lmao!
